Dropping the F10 Keyboard Shortcut

I have noticed just today on NEdit that F10 is bound to a key that
selects the menu. I have not encountered this keyboard shortcut on any
other application, so I assume that it is NEdit specific. I tried to
scan through the documentation for information about what Xresource may
have this, but I couldn't find it. I'd like to remap this to some other
keyboard shortcuts if possible.

Can someone tell me how I can get rid of this shortcut mapping?

I didn't know this either, but I have bound the F10 key to a Macro shortcut.

Right now I have F10 as a rebinding for "Show Calltip," which seems to
work a dual meaning on the F10. Specifically, if there is no calltip or
message to display, it selects the menu, and if there is, it shows the
calltip. On the other hand, I have Shift+F10 (F22 on my keyboard) bound
to a Shell Command, and this has the effect of running the shell command
and displaying the contextual quick menu that is usually shown with MB3.
That one does get annoying.

F10 for menu is a Motif default. It is an old CUA standard. MS Windows (and OS/2 PM) also supports this.
BTW, shift-F10 is context-menu (also CUA standard).

In the other Motif applications that I use, this doesn't seem to happen.
Is there a way to disable this?

That works as described in GTK+, too ... at least in Claws-Mail, that is.

alrighty then,

Thomas.
