For a while now I've been fighting with trying to figure out why block
shifting doesn't work right under KDE on rhel5 machines with no
success. This seems to be isolated to KDE as block shifting (Ctrl+0,
Ctrl +9) work fine under GNOME.

I know there are lestiff issues but this seems more likely a keyboard
mapping problem under KDE.

Has anyone here got a solution to this they'd care to share?

Any help/hints are greatly appreciated.

Turn off clipper - can't recall exactly it's offending setting stealing the selection.
Alternatively, get the latest sources on http://www.nedit.org/source.php

Thanks, that worked like a charm.

I use nedit on KDE rhel5 too.
In fact I always use the indentation-width block-shifting (same + Shift
key): Ctrl+Shift+0 or Ctrl+Shift+9. It works fine.
I hadn't even noticed Ctrl+0/9 was broken until this morning. You're
right, here it works only once then selection gets cleared.
